Gerald J. Wahlberg, age 68, Iron River, MI, died Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay, WI. Born: August 15, 1938 in Rockford, IL The son of the late Joseph and Anna (Johnson) Wahlberg attended the Rockford area schools. He married the former Sallie Spongberg on September 19, 1957 and the couple celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in 2006. The couple moved to the Three Lakes, WI area in 1976, and Jerry was employed as a butcher at Al's Super Value for many years. The couple later moved to the Iron River area, and made their home in Bates Township. He owned and operated Northwoods Pier Service in Bates. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and owned a moose camp on Long Lake in Quebec, Canada, where he loved to spend time. He was an active member of the congregation of Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall of Iron River, and enjoyed sharing the Bible message with all that he met. He is survived by his wife, Sallie Three sons, Joe (Melissa) Wahlberg of Caspian John (Rebekah) Wahlberg of Iron River Michael Wahlberg of Three Lakes One daughter, Chris (Karl) Gaffron of Three Lakes One brother, Ralph Wahlberg of Key West, FL One sister, Vi (Melvin) Backus of Rockford, IL Six grandchildren, Tim, Lexie, Hayley, Michaela, Megan, and Lauren Three Nieces Memorial Services: Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, Iron River, with Larry Phifer (long time family friend) to officiate.
