Gertrude A. Reed

Gertrude “Trudy” A. Reed, age 74, of Phelps, WI, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Phelps Care in Phelps, WI. She was born on October 11, 1943 in Phelps, WI; the daughter to the late Archie and Anna (Hall) Lincoln. Trudy married Grover C. Reed in 1960 in Phelps, WI, and he preceded her in death. She worked as a kitchen helper at the Iron County Medical Care Facility.  Trudy owned the Brule River Tap from 1983-1991 and she also owned the Backwoods Motel from 1991-2000.  She enjoyed planting flowers, working word search puzzles, ceramics, and watching hummingbirds. Trudy is survived by her sons; Grover Reed of Phelps, WI, Clifford Reed of Carol Stream, IL, Robert (Gina) Reed of Alvin, WI and Dale Reed of Glendale, IL; daughters, Carole (Greggory) Selin of Phelps, WI, and Tammy (Rick) Prevo of Iron River; brother, Alvin Lincoln of Laona, WI; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Levi, Roger, Archie and Vernon Lincoln and her sister, Margaret Gill. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 9 to 10 am at Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 10 am with Pastor Dawn Robbins to officiate.  Interment will be in Detour Michigan Cemetery.
