Gilbert Seymour

Gilbert E. Seymour, 66, of Iron River, MI, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Iron River Care Center. He was born May 23, 1947 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of Fred G. and Rose M. (Yackel) Seymour. He attended the Bates Schools. He was a lifelong resident of the area and served in the National Guard. He was employed in the pipeline industry for over 20 years, retiring in 2004. Gilbert was a member of the American Legion Alfred Branchini Post #17. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred and brother, Steven. Gilbert is survived by his mother, Rose Seymour of Iron River; son, Mark (Jamie) Seymour of Republic, MI; brother, Freddie (Waunetta) Seymour of Iron River; sisters, Susan (Ken) Hookenson and Betty Clements, both of Iron River; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
