Ginger H. LaRock, age 76, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. She was born on November 9, 1944 in Crystal Falls, MI, the daughter of the late Wesley and Marie (DeBaeker) Tuominen. Ginger attended the Crystal Falls schools, graduating from Crystal Falls High School with the Class of 1963. Ginger married the love of her life, James LaRock on June 26, 1981 at the First Presbyterian Church. The couple celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary in 2020. She was employed as an LPN for Dr. Ray Koivunen for many years. Her patients were drawn to her easy-going demeanor and upbeat attitude. Ginger had a knack for having fun wherever she went, and her infectious laugh was shared with many. She loved going out for dinner, dancing, posting on Facebook, snowmobiling, going to the casino and traveling. Her favorite places to travel were Lake Tahoe and Florida. Her love of golf led her to becoming a member of the Iron River Country Club for many years. The lights of her life were her twin granddaughters. Her close relationship with her younger sisters made for many family gatherings that she cherished greatly. Ginger’s sense of humor and positive aura reverberated to all of those around her. She will be deeply missed by many in the community, organizations she volunteered with, and friends near and far. As she would say, Go Pack Go! Ginger is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter, Charmaine M. (Brian) Sims of Grant Park, IL; sisters, Germaine (Stanley) Bjork of Gwinn, MI and Charlene (Allan) Anderson of Crystal Falls, MI; twin granddaughters, Alexis Sims and Sierra (fiancé Hayden Karstensen) Sims; great grandchild, Reese Karstensen; nieces, nephews, extended family and cherished friends. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 11:00 am at Resthaven Cemetery in Iron River with Deacon Terry Verville to officiate.
