Glen Sterling Singer, age 88, of Iron River, MI, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility of Crystal Falls, MI. Glen was born January 17, 1927 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Joseph and Yetta (Platt) Singer.  He attended the South Shore High School in Chicago. Following graduation, he attended Wilson Jr. College for three years. Glen was a US Navy veteran serving during World War II. Glen married the former Barbara Benjamin on November 21, 1951 in Chicago. The couple celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in November 2014. Glen was the owner and operator of Glen Motors Inc. of Menominee for almost 30 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs. He also was a Chicago Bears football fan. Glen is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Scott Singer and Steven Singer; daughter, Jean (Dr. William) Moore-Mallory; six grandchildren, Jessica Singer, Natalie Singer, Joey Singer, Trevor Anderson, Dr. Benjamin (Dr. Diana Molta Moore) Moore, and Ivan Mallory; nephews, Richard and Robert Singer; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Singer. Private family services will be held. Glenn suffered from Parkinson’s Disease for 36 years and in accordance with his wishes he donated his body for research to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
