Glen J. Stromberg

Glen Stromberg, age 84, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the Care Center in Iron River, MI. He was born on November 20, 1937, in Stambaugh Township, MI, the son of the late Charles and Linda (Westerlund) Stromberg. Glen contracted Polio at the age of 17, which left him paralyzed from the waist down. Despite his limitations, he continued to have a zest for life and kept a positive attitude. On crutches, he was able to manage a small herd of cattle on his 80-acre farm in Stambaugh Township, with the assistance of his family. Back in the day, he enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews camping. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting. He was a very kind and generous man and will be missed. Glen is survived by his two brothers, Gerald “Stubby” and Germaine (Clements) Stromberg of Gaastra, MI and Leslie “Bud” Stromberg of Grangeville, ID; as well as five nephews, Conrad (Colleen) Stromberg of Amasa, MI, Randy (Cathy) Stromberg of Iron River, MI, Jeff (Betty) Stromberg of Iron River, MI, Dale (Christy) Stromberg of Caspian, MI, and Carl "Buck" Stromberg of Grangeville, ID; three nieces, Cindy (Dan) Wheeler of Iron Mountain, MI, Lisa (Dale) Kuettel of Hortonville, WI, and Lois (Dick) Geary of Grangeville, ID. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the staff at the Iron River Care Center for their care while he was a patient. In honor of Glen’s request, there will be no services.
