Gloria Jean Brownell

Gloria “Jean” Brownell, 94, of Watersmeet, MI passed away on September 7, 2022, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI Jean was born January 4, 1928, in the Rogers area of Iron River, MI to the late Cecilia (Fraser) and Joseph Blatnik. After graduating Iron River High School in 1946 she moved to Chicago to work. In 1951 Jean married Ralph “Pat” Brownell and they made their home in Watersmeet, MI. They were married 59 years before Pat’s death in 2010. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, tending to her large yard, and drinking a good cup of coffee with family and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph “Pat” Brownell; and beloved sisters, Nancy Hacker Gneiser and Joanna Gregorski. She is survived by daughters, Diane Hartwick (Roy) of Bruce Crossing, MI and Kelly Pulaski (Donnie) of Beaufort, SC; two grandchildren, Joseph and Christine; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Fran Blatnik; brothers-in-law, Walter Gregorski and Neil Gneiser; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
