Gregory M. Deroche

Gregory M. DeRoche, age 56, of Iron River, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI.   He was born May 13, 1961 in Chicago, IL, the son of David DeRoche of Iron River and Colleen DeRoche of Kingsford. He graduated from West Iron County High School with the Class of 1979, and attended Central Michigan University.   Gregory enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and coins, being outdoors, gardening, fishing, and picking berries. An enthusiastic sports fan, he was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs. Gregory is survived by his father, David DeRoche and stepmother Shirley DeRoche, and his mother, Colleen DeRoche; daughter, Shannon (Mark) Willis of Iron River, MI; son, Xavier Compton of Mesa, AZ; brother, Jerry DeRoche of Iron River, MI; sister, Monet Dotson of Joliet, IL; granddaughters, Sierra Hooper and Aubrey Willis of Iron River; stepsister Sandy (Michael) Bowick of Deatsville, AL; niece, Paige Dotson of Chicago, IL; nephew, Drake Dotson of Joliet, IL; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by stepsister Susan Anstey, formerly of Cedar Bluffs, NE. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
