Henry B. Zychowski

Henry Benedict Zychowski, 88 of Caspian, MI went to be with the Lord at the Northstar Health Systems in Iron River, MI on January 7, 2014. He was born November, 30, 1925 in Caspian, MI. Henry was the son of the late Polish immigrant John and Mary (Tomko) Zychowski of Caspian, MI. Henry attended the Caspian Schools and graduated. He was employed for many years by the WhiteWay Dairy of Iron River and was always remembered as the local milk man. After the WhiteWay Dairy closed, Henry was employed at Coleman Products in Iron River working on the assembly line for ten years. After working at Coleman Products, Henry worked for the United States Forest Service in Iron County as a maintenance man until his retirement in 2000. Henry was a hard worker who, as most who knew him, would do anything to help his family, friends and even a stranger. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and was an avid walker. Additionally, Henry enjoyed reading and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Henry firmly carried his Catholic Christian faith wherever he went. He was a proud member of St. Cecilia Church in Caspian where he attended Mass on a regular basis. Henry was preceded in death by his father, John; mother, Mary; three brothers, Enick, Johnny, and Adam. He is survived by his nephew John Michael of Clinton Township, MI; nieces Mary Frangis of Elizabeth, CO, Susan Maxwell of Clinton Township, MI, and Jane Bennenati, Clinton Township MI; nephew, Paul Kuzdrall of Silver Lake, OH. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who he loved very much. Visitation will be held at Friday, January 10, 2014 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., at St. Cecilia Church of Caspian with Rev. Gregory Veneklase, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Pallbearers will be Joe Menghini, Thomas Willis, Mark Willis, Brian Gill, Larry Menghini, Andrew Menghini, Gary Menghini, and Ryan Menghini. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery in the spring.
