Herbert G. Honold

Herbert G. Honold, age 73, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Florence Health Services in Florence, WI. He was born on January 30, 1950, in Chicago, IL, the son of Herbert and Olga (Martish) Honold. Herb graduated from Luther North High School with the class of 1968. He then attended North Park College in Chicago, IL. Herb married Betty Bergquist on June 11, 1971, at North Park Covenant Church in Chicago. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in 2023. He was employed as a production manager for Levolor in Illinois and also worked for Lakeshore and Angeli’s in Iron River. Herb was a member Grace Covenant Church in Iron River. He was a loving father who enjoyed dogs, model trains, camping, photography, traveling, carpentry work, listening to music, and watching movies. Herb is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Matthew Honold of Marquette, MI; daughter, Melanie Iczkowski of Mosinee, WI; grandchildren, Jesse, Stanley, and Frank Iczkowski; special cousins, and friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Covenant Church in Iron River. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Poindexter to officiate. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.
