Hilda Haggard

Hilda T. Haggard Age 91 Iron River, MI Passed away October 28, 2012 at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette, MI. She was born June 17, 1921 in Spalding, MI, the daughter of the late John and Augusta (Dahl) Nordlander. Hilda married Clyde F. Haggard on December 30, 1940 in Bloomington, IL. and the couple made their home in Iron River. They celebrated their 56th in 1996. Clyde preceded her in death in 1997. Hilda worked at Friendly store in Iron River in the 1950s and at Coast-to-Coast in the 1960s. She then went to Nursing School in Escanaba and became an LPN. Hilda worked at the Crystal Falls Medical Care Facility for approximately ten years before she retired at age 65. She was a devoted and faithful member of her church, the First Lutheran Church in Iron River until she stayed at the Iron River Care Center. Hilda also donated her time to the Legion in Iron River. Her hobbies were taking care of her great-grandchildren, playing at her card clubs and of course, she never missed her coffee clutch with her neighbors every day, except on weekends. Hilda is survived by her children, Maureen Haggard of Iron River Clyde D. Haggard of Iron Mountain, MI Sue E. Hooper of Iron River James J. Haggard of Iron River Grandchildren, Debbie Hooper-Uren of Caspian, MI Julie Hooper of Eugene, OR Shawn Haggard of California Jeff Haggard of Caspian, MI Nine great grandchildren Two great, great grandchildren Sister, Helen Magnuson of Iron River Special niece, Linda Tatosky and family Many nieces, nephews and extended family She was preceded in death by brother, John Nordlander; brother-in-law, Doug Brown; and sisters, Aggie Grailer, Judith Rule, Ina Fredrickson, Anna Lee, and Freda Brown. Visitation: Monday, November 5, 2012 from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Iron River Memorial Service: Monday, November 5, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Iron River with Rev.
