Howard M. Fregetto, age 95 of Iron River, MI, died Monday, May 4, 2009 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. He was born February 24, 1914 in Stambaugh, MI. The son of the late Frank and Louise (Vielmetti) Fregetto was a lifelong resident of the area. He attended the Stambaugh schools, graduating in 1931. On March 26, 1938, he married Cecelia Cieciorka at the former Assumption Catholic Church of Iron River. The couple celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in 2007. Howard worked at the Northwestern Railroad, 15 years at the Davidson Mine, and 23 years at the Sherwood Mine until his retirement in 1976. He enjoyed all sports in general, especially softball and basketball. He was an avid Detroit Tiger and Green Bay Packer fan. He enjoyed reading books and playing cribbage and smear. He valued his family, relatives, neighbors, and friends. He was a member of St. Agnes Church of Iron River and the Holy Name Society. He was also preceded in death by his wife Cecelia on February 15, 2008 and son, Howard A. ""Butch"" Fregetto on February 23, 1998; two brothers, Frank and Floyd ""Smokey"" Fregetto; four sisters, Nydia Maki, Odeth Ross, Doris Donnini and Inez Smith. He is survived by his son, James (Carolyn) Fregetto of Gwinn, MI Daughter-in-law Margaret Fregetto of Destin, FL Six grandchildren and six great grandchildren Numerous nieces and nephews Funeral Service: Friday, May 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River with Rev.
