Howard S. Miller, 86, of Caspian, MI, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. He was born on December 31, 1937, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late Howard P. and Lillian (Jaworski) Miller. Howard attended the Milwaukee Schools, graduating from Bayview High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Army National Guard and Army Reserve. Howard married Geraldine Kolter on June 25, 1960, in Milwaukee, WI. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in 2017. Geraldine preceded him in death on September 24, 2017. He was employed at Lester Detterbeck Enterprise prior to retiring. Howard was a devout catholic and enjoyed being a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Caspian. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as G-Pa. Howard is survived by his son, Robert Miller of Caspian, MI; daughters, Marianne (Steve) Raymond of Iron River, MI, Donna (Dennis Broswavic) Rosseau of Crystal Falls, MI, and Anne (Ken Pfister) Miller of Quinnesec, MI; sisters, Vivian Booth of Florida, Naomi Gauthier of Wisconsin, and Janelle Hubeny of Minnesota; grandchildren, Jessica and Christopher Miller, Julie (Andy) Reddinger, Jenny (Troy) Sparapani, Katie (Frank) Houle, Kyle (Jessica) Rosseau, and Nick (Kaley Ingram) Rosseau; great-grandchildren, Dominic and Makayla Sparapani, Aaron, Carolyn, and Chloe Rosseau, Frank Houle, Jr, Noah, Hunter, and Rylan Reddinger; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his infant daughters, Debbie and Valerie Miller and sister, Marsha Booth. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Fosu to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.
