Irene F. Gendron

Irene F. Gendron, 98, of Phelps, WI, formerly of Iron River, MI, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Rhinelander, WI. She was born July 13, 1914 in Iron River Township, MI, daughter of the late William and Hilma (Lindgren) Sivula. She attended the Nash School and the Iron River Schools graduating from Iron River High School with the Class of 1932. On March 28, 1936, Irene married Clarence Gendron in Iron River. The couple moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1945 where she was employed as an inspector for Briggs & Stratton for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1975. Following her retirement the couple they returned to Iron River and in 1997 moved to Phelps, WI. Clarence preceded her in death on March 23, 1999. She is survived by her son, Gary Gendron of Greenwood, SC; daughters, Gail Gendron of Brookfield, WI, Judith (Thomas) Bente of Shawano, WI, and Sandra Gendron of Burlington, WA; brother, Roy (Esther) Sivula of Iron River, MI; five grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Graveside services and interment will be Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River, with Rev. Bonny Kinnunen to officiate.
