Irma Norma Abata, age 84, Caspian, MI died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Iron River Care Center, Iron River, MI. Born: January 29, 1924 in Caspian The daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Castengaro) Peretto was a lifelong resident. She attended the Caspian Grade School, and the Stambaugh High School, graduating in 1942. She married Carmen Abata on December 7, 1946 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian. The couple made their home in Caspian and celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in 2007. She was employed through the years by the Chicago Clothing Store, Harris' Department Store of Stambaugh, Drey's Iron River Clothing, the White Way Dairy, the Ben Franklin Store, and Coleman Products of Iron River, retiring from Coleman in 1985. Irma was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian. She helped run bingo for the Caspian Athletic Association and enjoyed crafting and baking. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Silvio Peretto, and two sisters, Palma Dellies and Amelia Hammer. She is survived by her husband Carmen of Caspian Two sons, Don (Ann) Abata of Korea Ronald Abata of Trenton, NJ One daughter, Carole Sue Abata of Caspian One brother, Bruno Peretto of Gaastra, MI Two grandchildren, Gina Kallio (Derek Schlabowske) of Iron River Heidi (Anthony) Thompson of Iron Mountain, MI One great grandchild, Paige Thompson Nieces and nephews Visitation: Monday, June 23, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. A Liturgical Prayer Service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Service: Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian with Rev.
