Jack “Scotty” B. Watt, age 90, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2017 at his home. He was born October 25, 1927 in Iron River, MI, the son of the late William J. and Anna (Monahan) Watt. He attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the Class of 1945. Scotty was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army and received a World War II Victory medal. Scotty married Jeannine Mitchell on December 2, 1950 in Iron River, where the couple made their home. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in 2017. He was employed as a miner for M.A. Hanna Mining Company for 30 years. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the DAV, the American Legion Alfred Branchini Post # 17 of Iron River, and the Iron River Country Club. Scotty was an avid walker and enjoyed golfing, going to high school football and basketball games, and followed the Indianapolis Colts for many years. Scotty is survived by his wife, Jeannine; daughter, Nancy (Jim) Grindatti of Green Bay, WI; granddaughters, Kathy (Russ) Marchiando and Tracy (Tim) Phillips, both of Franklin, WI; four great grandchildren; niece, Rhonda (Joey) Zawada; and nephews, Ray Watt and Gary (Glorinda) Jarvis. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Watt and brother, Robert Watt. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Iron River City Cemetery.
