Jacqueline V. Bomaster

April 14, 1947 — May 30, 2021

Jacqueline “Jackie” Bomaster, age 74, of Gaastra, MI, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born on April 14, 1947 in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late Jack and Arlette (Johnson) Dobson. She attended the Iron River Schools. Jackie married Don “Donnie” Bomaster on September 10, 1966 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Gaastra. The couple celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in 2020 and made their home at the old Bomaster Family Farm. She was employed in the home healthcare field and at the Senior Center for several years. Jackie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Iron River. Throughout the years, Jackie cared for many animals on their farm, especially doting on the cats and dogs. There were many deer that used to visit them daily, their favorite being a doe named “Bready”, that they would hand-feed right off their porch, each time she visited. Her hobbies included crocheting, cooking, puzzling, sewing, crafting and decorating the home that she and Donnie shared together. Jackie was renowned for her sense of humor and her cunning wit. She especially enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends; singing, game playing, and simply enjoying each other’s company. The children of the family loved to come to her house to learn the art of baking, which made Jackie feel honored. Jackie is survived by her husband, Donnie; brother, Arnold (Marsha) Dobson of Texas; sister, Ellen Harris of Iron River; sisters-in-law, Diane (Ray) Sablich, Sister Maureen Bomaster, Adell “Dollie” Kasten, and Sue Hanmer; as well as her special sidekick, Nikki Holm; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Dobson and Michael Hanmer; very special paternal grandparents, John and Marion “Ma” Dobson and maternal grandparents, Leonard and Irene Johnson; stepmother, Marion Dobson; father-in-law, Tom Bomaster and mother-in-law, LaVerne Bomaster. In accordance with Jackie’s wishes, private family services will be held. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Jacqueline V.
