James E. Ebner

James E. Ebner, also known as “Jim” or “Tex”, age 86, of Milwaukee, WI, was born to Eternal Life on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was born on August 12, 1931 in Bastrop, Texas. He worked his way to Milwaukee, where he was employed as laborer in the Construction Industry and a member of the Local 113 Laborer’s Union.  Jim proudly served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 1952 to Dec. 1954. He was stationed at Fort Myer, VA in Company A, 3rd Infantry Division. He was also in the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery, where he was a rider in the Caisson Platoon, as well as other guard duties. On June 15, 1979, he and his wife Mary were united in marriage at the St. Gregory the Great Church in Milwaukee, WI. The couple celebrated 38 wonderful years together, before his passing. In addition to many friends, relatives and in-laws, Jim is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Stasaski) Ebner. Mary was born and raised in the M.A. Hanna mining location (also known as the Hiawatha location) in Stambaugh, MI. She graduated from the Stambaugh High School, with the Class of 1951. Jim and Mary attended all of the Stambaugh High School - Class of 1951 reunions, and Jim was called “Tex” by the classmates. “Tex” loved the U.P. and came up north as often as possible. The couple enjoyed the colors of spring and fall, and delighted in the “Yooper” hospitality. He and his wife decided that they would like to be buried on the Stasaski family plot in Resthaven Cemetery in Iron River, MI. Visitation and the Mass of Christian Burial was held previously in Milwaukee, WI on March 27, 2018 at the St. Gregory the Great Church. Interment will be in held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at the Resthaven Cemetery, in Iron River, MI, with Rev. Grogory Veneklase to offer a prayer service. The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside. Local funeral arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. “Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may the perpetual light shine upon him.
