James J. Havican, age 83, of Alvin, WI, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, MI. He was born April 24, 1933 in Marquette, MI, the son of the late William and Leona (Lenore) Havican. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. James married the former Beatrice Joy Duhame on June 3, 1950 in Marquette, MI, and the couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this year. He was employed by Chrysler and retired after 30 years. He was a former member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Marquette. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, taking care of his lawn and yard, putting together model cars, and dancing. James is survived by his wife, Beatrice, son Robert Havican of Panama City Beach, FL, and grandchildren, Brennan Havican, Tori Bates, and Devin Bates. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Havican; daughter, Joyce Marie Havican; brothers, Harold, Clarence, and Kenneth Havican; sister Rose Hewitt; infant granddaughter, Tara. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Alvin, WI.
