James R. Labelle

James R. LaBelle, 78, of Iron River, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014 in Grand Rapids, MI. James was born on June 1, 1936 in Ann Arbor, MI. He married the former Patricia Hunt on April 20, 1976. She preceded him in death on March 28, 1984. James served on the board of St. Peters Lutheran Church. He was always there to give a helping hand to others. He volunteered for 15 years delivering meals to Senior Citizens. In addition to his mother and wife, James was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Edward, and Henry Meyers. He is survived by two sisters, Carol James and Bonnie (James) Urban, both of Caspian, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Norman Greve to officiate. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River.
