James "Milt" M. Stagner

James “Milt” M. Stagner, age 77, of Iron River, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 7, 2018 in Escanaba, MI.  He was born on May 13, 1941 in Hopkinsville, KY; the son of the late Leonard and Sara (Gibbs) Stagner. He graduated from high school and then earned a Bachelor’s Degree.  Jim married Sandra “Sandy” Stagner on December 22, 1998 in Chicago, IL. While they knew each other as young adults, they reconnected later in life and have celebrated the last 20 plus years together.    He was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor in a water treatment plant for over 30 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, snow skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Jim is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughters, Jamie (Renny) Roman of Hammond, IN and Mickie (Michael Sims) Burney of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Briana, Morgan and Matthew; and man’s best friend, Wrigley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
