James W. Owens

James W. Owens Age 62 Iron River, MI (formerly of Milwaukee, WI) Died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in Iron River. He was born May 18, 1950 in Greenwood, Mississippi, the son of the late Tom and Beatrice (Jackson) Owens. He attended the Rufus King High School, Milwaukee, WI and later attended the Milwaukee Area Technical College. James was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he returned to the Milwaukee area where he made his home and worked as a security officer until moving to Iron River in 2001. James was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iron River. He is survived by his brother, Saku Samundi (Karen) of Milwaukee; sisters, Patricia (Dennis) Reed of Milwaukee, WI and Lillian (Edward) Staples of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Owens Jr. Visitaion will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2012 fom 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Northwest Funeral Chapel, Milwaukee.
