James J. Puckett

James J. Puckett, age 87, of Iron River, MI passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Iron County Medical Care Facility.    He was born on March 24, 1931 in Stambaugh Township, MI; to the late Dillard and Sudie (Ponders) Puckett.  He attended the Stambaugh Schools. James married the former Annette Puckett on September 8, 1956 in Iron River and the couple celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this fall. James was employed as a machine operator at a paper mill for 37 ½ years. Following his retirement, the couple returned to Stambaugh Township to make their home. James was a member of the Little White Church in Alvin, WI.  An avid outdoorsman, James enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and cutting wood.  He is survived by his wife, Annette; sons, Mike (Karen) Puckett of Muskegon, MI and Mark (Debbie) Puckett of Pisgah, IA; daughter, Donna (Wayne) Morris of Kimberly, WI; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held Friday, November 2, 2018 from 10:30 am to 12 noon at the Little White Church in Alvin, WI.  Funeral service will follow at 12 pm with Pastor Della Rosenow to officiate.  Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Alvin, WI.
