Jan M. Hackett

Jan M. Hackett, age 60, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the UP Health System in Marquette, Michigan. She valiantly battled leukemia and further complications for the last 17 years. She was born May 2, 1957 in Salt Lake City, UT, the daughter of Robert and Barbara (Bengtzen) Haldin. Jan married Steven Hackett on May 5, 1985 at Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The couple celebrated 32 wonderful years together this spring. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved spending quality time with her family, and delighted in babysitting her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and working crossword puzzles. Jan is survived by her husband, Steven of Iron River, MI; daughters, Amber Lee Sarafiny of Iron River, MI and Kelli Nicole Kretchmer of Santa Margareta, CA; mother, Barbara Haldin of Iron River, MI; grandchildren, Isabelle Hackett, Winter Little, Shane Kretchmer and Reagan Sarafiny; sister, Tina Hudson of Temecula, CA; brother, Marc Haldin of Salt Lake City, UT; and numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Haldin and her granddaughter, Adrianna Lee Ceron. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.
