Frances ""Janice"" Larson Age 91 last residing in Gurnee, IL (formerly Iron River, MI) Died Sunday, March 20, 2011 Born: October 11, 1919 in Kansas City The daughter of the late Frank and Lena Mabel (Arrasmith) Davis. Graduated from Union College, Lincoln, NE, and received her Masters Degree from Michigan State University. She was a teacher for 35 years, retiring in 1983. Janice married Spencer Larson on May 22, 1944 and the couple moved to the Iron River area in 1954. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1994. Spencer preceded her in death in 1998. She was a member of the Iron River Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved working with ceramics and also enjoyed gardening and reading. She is survived by her daughter, Lianne (William) Welch of Baton Rouge, LA Granddaughter, Yvette (Patrick) Gaughan Great grandson, Spencer Gaughan Two sisters, Lila Shawver and Gladys Royer and preceded in death by her brother Frank Davis Junior. Graveside services will be held May 16, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Bates Township Cemetery, Iron River with the Rev. Jess Nephew to officiate.
