Jayette A. Penkivech

Jayette A. Penkivech, age 73, of Gaastra, MI died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, MI Born: April 10, 1935 in Stambaugh, MI The daughter of the late Raymond and Gladys (Goodman) Geegan was a lifelong resident, attending the Stambaugh schools. She married Martin Penkivech on November 27, 1954 at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, and the couple made their home in Gaastra. Martin preceded her in death in 1998. Jayette was employed as a custodian by West Iron County Schools for 25 years. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian. She was a great mother and her family and friends were the most important part of her life. An avid Packer fan, she enjoyed watching their games on television. She also enjoyed gardening. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine Christensen. She is survived by two sons; Paul (Michaeline) Penkivech of Gaastra Patrick Penkivech of Gaastra Two daughters; Christine (Rudy) Tedeschi of Kingsford, MI Cherrie (Peter) Dedo of Winneconne, WI Six grandchildren Nieces and nephews Visitation: Monday, August 11, 2008 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Service: Monday, August 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian with Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
