Jeffrey Hanold

Jeffrey ""Jeff"" J. Hanold, 63, of Iron River, MI, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 at his home. Jeff was born November 29, 1949 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of Joseph and Marianne (McGreaham) Hanold. He attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating with the Class of 1968. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving from January 1969 to September 1973. Following his honorable discharge, he attended Northern Michigan University, Marquette, MI, graduating Magna Cum Laude in1977 with a Bachelor 's Degree in Conservation. Jeff was employed as a Corrections Officer for over 25 years. An accomplished outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Jeff was very into science and liked airplanes and anything to do with aviation. He was also a movie buff. Jeff is survived by his daughter, Jessica Hanold of East Lansing, MI; parents, Joseph and Marianne Hanold of Iron River; brothers, John (Lisa) Hanold of Iron River and Jody (Penny) Hanold of Crystal Falls; sister, Jane (Kelly) Gustafson of Iron River; nieces, nephews and extended family. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Diabetes Support Group, c/o Northstar Health System, 1400 W.
