Joan A. Bewsher

Joan A. Bewsher, age 84, of Iron River, MI, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls. She was born August 23, 1933 in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late Clifford and Alma (Olson) Berlin. She attended and graduated from the Iron River High School, with the Class of 1951. Joan married Lloyd Bewsher on November 26, 1952 in Iron River. The couple celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in 2010 and Lloyd preceded her in death on March 28, 2011. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Iron River. Over the years, she worked at Standard Office Supply and Riverside Pizzeria. Joan enjoyed bowling, playing cards and watching “Packer” football games. She was a lover of dogs and cats, especially her grand-dog, Colby.   Joan is survived by her son, Allen (Debbie) Bewsher of Wichita, KS; daughters, Janet (Thomas) VanWagner of Iron River, MI and Barbara (Nathan) Weisman of Nelma, WI; grandchildren, Joey (Lisa) VanWagner, Karla (Nick) Sprosty, Jessica (Shaun) Grimes, Jennifer (Matt) Ashpole and Brett Bewsher; great grandchildren, Sophie Sprosty and Evan Berlin Grimes. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.
