Joanne Swenski

Joanne Swenski, age 73, of Iron River, MI, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Iron River Care Center after a lengthy illness. She was born February 21, 1943 in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late John and Bernice (Siedleski) Swenski, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the Class of 1961. She attended business college in Milwaukee, WI, and was the Iron River City Treasurer for many years. She was a member of the Planetary Society. She loved to travel, was an avid reader, and enjoyed dining out. Joanne is survived by her sister, Marcia (Gerry) Broswavic, nephews, Jesse, Nathan, and Gerad (Teri) Broswavic, and niece, Shawndel Broswavic. Private family services will be held.
