John L. Depotie

John L. DePotie, age 75, of Crystal Falls, MI, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the U.P. Health System in Marquette, MI. He was born April 26, 1943 in Florence, WI, the son of the late Louis and Anna (Karle) DePotie.  John graduated from Alpha High School.  He then attended General Motors School.   John married Susan Wiggins on February 14, 1970 at United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls, MI.  The couple made their home in Crystal Falls.  They celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary this past February.  He was employed as an auto mechanic at Skewes Chevrolet in Crystal Falls and the Lindwall Motors in Iron River for 30 years.  He retired due to complications from diabetes.  He also helped his father-in-law Walter Wiggins as a dairy route man for Crystal Falls and Florence, WI.  John was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.     John is survived by his wife Susan; daughter, Sherri (Larry) Menghini of Caspian, MI; grandchildren, Chelsie (Cody) Rauterkus of Iron River, MI and Larry Menghini Jr. of Caspian, MI; great grandchildren, C.J. and Skylar Rauterkus; sister, Marjorie King of Crystal Falls, MI and Marion Stiffe of Caspian, MI; beloved cat, Emerald; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
