John C. Lovendahl, age 76, of Long Lake, WI, died January 6, 2015 at his home. He was born January 6, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late Carl and Myrtle (Richards) Lovendahl. He attended the Milwaukee Schools, graduating from Washington High School. John was employed as a salesman at Kindt Collins for over 40 years. He was active in the Boy Scouts and Badger Trails organization. He enjoyed a good meal, reading, hiking, and taking trips to Mexico, especially Port of Vallarta. John is survived by his special friend of many years, Mary Fries; sons, Dan Lovendahl of Lake Tomahawk, WI, Carl (Barb) Lovendahl of Milwaukee, WI, and Jim (Carlos) Lovendahl of Seattle, WA; brother, Robert Lovendahl of Eagle River, WI; sister, Karen Fox of Milwaukee, WI; extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Elis-Lovendahl. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River, MI. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m.
