John J. Mastie

John ""Pug"" J. Mastie, age 82, Iron River, MI died Monday, July 9, 2007 at the Iron River Care Center, Iron River. Born: May 1, 1925 in Stambaugh, MI The son of the late Michael and Sophie (Filipkowski) Mastie attended the Stambaugh Schools. He married the former Margaret Fiorani and the couple made their home in Iron River. He was employed in the local mines by the M.A. Hanna Mining Company for many years, and later by the City of Ann Arbor until his retirement. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Stambaugh Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey.
