John L. Pellizzer

John L. Pellizzer, age 93, Caspian, Michigan passed away Monday, October 3, 2016. He was born July 30, 1923, the son of the late Peter and Rose (Meneguzzo) Pellizzer. He was a U.S. Army Airforce Veteran of WW II and worked in the local mines, retiring in 1981, after 35 years. John married Germaine M. Angeli on August 6, 1955 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, Michigan and the couple celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in 2013. Germaine preceded him in death on May 8, 2014. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and the VFW Ottawa Post. He enjoyed hunting and fly fishing when he was young. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed gardening and watching the Detroit Tigers and Green Bay Packers. He also loved to bake and make cavetelli with sauce to share with family and special friends. John is survived by his son, Peter Pellizzer of Caspian, MI; daughters, Theresa (Joseph) Shubat of Crystal Falls, MI, Linda (David) Hill of Mazomaine, WI, JoAnn (Rob) McKindles of Suamico, WI, Gina (Mike) Healey of Chassell, MI; brother, Jim (Ruth) Pellizzer of Iron River, MI; grandchildren, Keesha, Charisse, Shanelle, Jarett, Joseph, Sheena, Morgan, Alex, Noah, Nick, and Hannah; great grandchildren, Braeden, Wyatt, Henli, and Jayce; and special nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son, John and sisters, Lena Delago and Mary Marinello. Visitation will be held Monday, October 10, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to officiate. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery. The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of John L.
