John P. Poulos

John P. Poulos, age 62, of Iron River, passed away unexpectedly on February 28, 2016 at his home. He was born on May 5, 1953, the son of the late Theodore and Borgheald (Peterson) Poulos. He attended the West Iron County Schools and graduated in 1971. John married Victoria Ingram on July 22, 1972 at the Assembly of God Church of Iron River, and the couple have been lifelong residents of the area. John was employed by the U.S. Forest Service for over 30 years. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Iron River and the Iron County National Guard. He enjoyed scuba diving, picking rocks, hunting, playing music, especially with his band, “The Outer Edge”, baking bread and cooking. Spending time with his family was most important to him. John is survived by his wife, Victoria; son, Aaron (Melissa) Poulos of Green Bay, WI; daughters, Sarah (Gerard) Baclich of Iron River and Elizabeth (Jason) Schandel of Iron River; brother, Curt (Jill) Poulos of Stambaugh; sister, Barb (Ralph) Salonen of Iron River; grandchildren, Austin, Elizabeth, Shaunessi, Austin, Donovan, Gavin and Violet; many nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:45a.m. at the First Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow at 11a.m. with Rev. Lavonne Stephenson to officiate. Honorary pallbearers are nephews, Ricky Chromcik, Johnny Chromcik, Jeff Poulos, Drew Poulos, Jeff Gaspardo, Brian Ingram and Todd Ingram.
