John M. Ridolphi, age 85, Iron River, MI died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the D. J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette, MI. Born August 17, 1921 in Iron River. The son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Fiorani) Ridolphi attended the Iron River schools and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. John married the former Eileen Maki on June 29, 1946 in Stambaugh and the couple made their home in Iron River. He was employed as a miner by M.A. Hanna Mining Company working in the local mines until their closure. He was then employed by the City of Iron River until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, American Legion Alfred Branchini Post #17, and the VFW. He enjoyed bowling, bocce ball, walking, and dancing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen in 1984; four brothers, Guido, Eli, Aldo, and Frank; two sisters, Jean and Everina. He is survived by one son, Mark (Catherine) Ridolphi of Westchester, IL Two daughters, Marjean (Barton) Bartelli of Marquette, MI Tina (Alan) Hill of Plymouth, MN One sister, Mabel ""Mickey"" (Ray) Domina of Washington, PA Ten grandchildren Nieces and nephews Visitation: Friday, August 3, 2007 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Services: Friday, August 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River, with Rev. Norman Clisch to officiate. Interment: Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River, MI. The West Side Veterans Council to accord Military Rites. The family suggests memorials to the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans or the Iron County Museum.
