John R. Wetenkamp, Sr.

John R. Wetenkamp, Sr., age 70, of Long Lake, WI, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024. He was born on October 31, 1953, in Manitowoc, WI, the son of the late Stuart and June (Gauger) Wetenkamp. He attended and graduated from Laona High School with the class of 1972. John married Gladys Halada on March 16, 1974, in Crandon, WI. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. He was the owner and operator of his own logging and trucking business. John was a member of St. Norbert Catholic Church in Long Lake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, ATV riding, camping, and just being outdoors. John is survived by his wife, Gladys; son, John (Heather) Wetenkamp Jr. of Billings, MT; daughter, Heather (Mike) Martens of Condon, MT; brother, Larry Wetenkamp of Newald, WI; sisters, Sandra Pautz of Crandon, WI and Susan DeGrant of Green Bay, WI; granddaughters, Holly (David Blackberg) Belland, Autumn Wetenkamp, and Caylee Wetenkamp; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
