Jordan S. Vassar

Jordan Scott Vassar, age 23, of Iron River, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 2, 2018. On February 19, 1995, he was born in Iron Mountain, MI; the son of Steven and Kelly (Richards) Vassar. He attended the West Iron County Schools.   Jordan especially loved spending time with his family and friends and adored his dog, Munchie (that he affectionately referred to as his “baby”). He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jordan is survived by his parents; fiancé, Nacole Swanson; sisters, Justine (Matt) Routheaux, Carli Bergquist and Taylor Leonoff; maternal grandfather, William (Sandi) Richards, maternal grandmother, Judy (Nik) Bergquist;  paternal grandmother, Ella (Dan) Helgemo; aunts, Kris (Scott) Derepkowsi, Missy (Joe) Brzoznowski, Kelly (Mark) Mattson, Tammy (Dan) Pinkerton and Casey Vassar; great aunt, Pat (Ron) Meyer; uncles, Billy Richards and Dale Vassar, Sr.; great uncle, Gary (Chris Kennedy) Richards; cousins, Mindy (John Boster) Willison, Michaela (Miguel) Barrett, Josh (Melissa) Richards, Dakota and Alayna Derepkowski and Hannah Richards; nieces, Aubree and Carli Routheaux and Riley and Emma Bergquist; nephews, William Boyer and Dale Vassar, Jr.; special friends, Jared Martz and Allen Tappa; as well as extended family and friends.      He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Steve Vassar, Sr. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Church in Iron River.
