Joseph R. Gasperini

Joseph R. Gasperini, age 91, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI. He was born on February 12, 1931, in Gaastra, MI, the son of the late Selmo and Emalinda (Rometti) Gasperini. He attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating with the class of 1949. Joseph married Joyce Williams on October 25, 1952, at Blessed Sacrament in Stambaugh, MI. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. He was the manager of Iron River Auto Supply, retiring in 1991. Joseph was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, MI, where he was an usher and was a lifetime member of the Iron River Elks Lodge #1671. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a good mechanic and carpenter. Joseph especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking them fishing and to camp. Joseph is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Don (Cindy) Gasperini of Iron River; daughter, Cindy (Robert) Bourgo of Gleason, WI; brother, Leonard (Marilyn) Gasperini of Iron River, MI; sister-in-law, Lorraine Ehlinger of Iron River, MI; grandchildren, Ryan Bourgo, Dan Gasperini, Jessica Brosius, and Kevin Bourgo; eight great grandchildren; extended family and friends.
