Joseph L. Lekatz, Jr.

Joseph L. Lekatz, Jr., age 65, of Iron River, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls. He was born November 17, 1950, the son of the Joseph and Elaine (Kochinsky) Lekatz in Stambaugh, Michigan. He attended the Iron River High School, graduating with the Class of 1968. He later joined the National Guard. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River. He enjoyed traveling, photography, putting computers together, taking care of his mother and especially loved his family. Joseph is survived by his mother, Elaine of Iron River; sister, Aimee Jo of Iron River; two nephews, Evan and Lucas; one niece, Autumn and special aunts, Marilyn, Paulette, Gladys and Susan.      He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Lekatz, Sr. and his brother, Paul Lekatz. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River with Deacon Robert Kostka to officiate. Services will include a memorial remembrance of his brother Paul E. Lekatz, who passed away on February 17, 2016.
