Joseph C. Peterson Sr.

Joseph C. Peterson, Sr., age 68, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Wausau Manor Nursing Home in Wisconsin. On September 16, 1949, he was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Donald W. and Joan (Weyn) Peterson. He was employed as a Carpenter in the Construction Industry for over 40 years. After retiring, he lived on a sailboat in the Caribbean for many years, volunteering to teach children, while he was in the Islands. He also obtained his Captain’s License while in St. Thomas. Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph Peterson, Jr. of Eugene, OR, Adam (Sarah) Peterson of Sterling, VA, Daniel (Danielle) Peterson of Oak Harbor, WA, Sara Peterson of Fort Myers, FL; several grandchildren, 11 siblings; Roseann (Jim) Roberson of IL, Don Peterson of OH, Terri (Dave) Johnson of FL, Jan (Bob) Waddell of IN, Mary Clay of TN, Chris (Missy) Peterson of AZ, Chuck Peterson of AZ, Sam (Dan) McCormick of CA, Rose (Gary) Zinkann of IL, JoAnne (Mark) Clark of CA, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Joe was loved by all he crossed paths with. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Mike Lewis.
