Josephine M. DeMilio, age 93 of Caspian, MI died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee, WI. Born: March 30, 1915 in Caspian, MI The daughter of the late Joseph and Louiza (Polich) Shubat attended the Stambaugh schools. She married Louis Ben DeMilio on August 15, 1931 in Caspian, and the couple made their home in Caspian. Louis Ben preceded her in death. Josephine was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, the Daughters of Isabella, St. Anne's Society, and the Riverside Bowling League She enjoyed bowling and was an excellent cook, specializing in Croatian and Italian dishes. She also enjoyed the slot machines and was a fierce smear player. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and circle of friends in Caspian and the surrounding area. She was especially fond of the coffee clutches at McDonald's and the 4th of July family reunions where family and friends would meet. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Loretta Boerger, three brothers; Joseph, Albert, and Tony (killed in WWII) and sister; Mary Penovich and Antonia Banker. She is survived by her son, Mark DeMilio of Franklin, WI Daughter, Sally (John) Ditzel of Commerce Township, MI Son-in-law, Richard Boerger of Tulsa, OK Eight grandchildren Sixteen great grandchildren Three great, great grandchildren Nieces and nephews Visitation: Friday, November 28, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Service: Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian, with Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor, and Rev. Otto Sartorelli to concelebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment: Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River Funeral arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River.
