Josephine N. Skog

Josephine N. Skog, age 97, of Iron River, MI, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls. She was born December 25, 1916 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Melchedi and Annunziata (Fioni) Minnucci. She attended the Iron River schools, graduating from Iron River High School. On March 28, 1934, Josephine married Lloyd Lewis in Iron River. Lloyd preceded her in death on February 18, 1976. She married Clarence Skog on December 31, 1980 in Stambaugh. Clarence preceded her in death on November 22, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, August and Americo Minnucci, and sister, Adele Lytle. Josephine is survived by her son, Gilbert (Tomie) Lewis of Iron River; sisters, Mary O'Donnell, and Rose Lee; grandchildren, Gilbert (Teri), Jared, Daniel, Selina, and Samantha Lewis. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River with Rev. Gregory Veneklase, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
