Joyce L. Rankin

Joyce H. Rankin, age 62, of Iron River, MI went home to God on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. She was born on March 2, 1958 in Washington, D.C., the daughter of Augusta (Valentyn) Houser and the late James E. Houser. Being in a military family she attended different schools across the United States eventually graduating from Pembroke High School in Hampton, VA. with the Class of 1976. Joyce married Joseph Rankin on February 25, 1995 in Orlando, FL and Iron River has been their home for 23 years. Together, they committed their lives to God and raised three sons. The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this year. She enjoyed encouraging others, laughing, singing, movies, happy endings, children, studying the bible, walking, quilting, crafts, hiking, four seasons, and life in general. Joyce is survived by her husband, Joe; sons, Benjamin (Erin) Rankin of Iron River, MI, Daniel Rankin of New Lisbon, WI, and Joe Rankin Jr. of Iron River, MI; grandson, Seth Rankin; mother, Augusta Houser of Iron River, MI; brothers, James (Robin) Houser, Jr of Kent, WA, Richard (Jenni) Houser of Parker, CO, and Lance (Michele) Houser of Oahu, HI; nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
