Judith "Judy" F. Schroder

Judith “Judy” F. Schroder, age 77, of Tipler, WI, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain, MI. She was born January 29, 1939 in Cavour, WI, the daughter of the late Frederick and Ada (Chapman) Gruman.   She attended the Laona Schools and graduated with the Class of 1957. Judy was a teacher for 33 years in Florence School System. She holds the distinction of being the last teacher to teach in a two room schoolhouse in Wisconsin.   Judy married Gordon Schroder on June 1, 1963 in Cavour, WI, and the couple made their home in Tipler. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary last month. She was a member of the Iron River Bible Church. She enjoyed reading, teaching Bible studies, and entertaining family and friends. Judy is survived by her husband, Gordon; sons, Paul (Tina) Schroder of Antigo, WI, Scott (Tonja) Schroder of Asheville, NC, and Kurt (Lori) Schroder of Cascade, MD; daughter-in-law, Cathy Schroder of Aniwa, WI; brother, Lawrence (Mary) Gruman of West Bend, WI; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kasey Schroder, six brothers, and four sisters. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 10 to 11:30 am at the Iron River Bible Church, 3343 US Hwy 2 E, Iron River, MI.
