Judy Ann Summers, 81 of Iron River, passed away October 14, 2021, with her daughter by her side in Petoskey Michigan. She was living in Boyne City with her daughter and granddaughter at the time of her death. Judy was born March 4th, 1940, in Ironwood, MI to John and Margaret Hanley. They moved to Iron River in 1958. She graduated from Iron River High School and then continued her education at Northern Michigan University graduating with a double master’s degree in Speech and English. She worked at the drive inn, radio station, and later NMU. Judy enjoyed dancing, hunting, archery, camping, reading, skiing, gambling and was an auxiliary member of The American Legion Reino Post 21. Later she enjoyed playing games on her phone and watching Judge Judy while drinking coffee and eating donuts and rice crispy bars. She always had a sweet tooth and loved milk chocolate. Judy married Michael Meyer in 1965 then later to George Summers in 1972. Years after George passed, she was in a long-term relationship with George Stoychoff until her death. Judy is survived by her sisters, Adriane, Kathleen and Jeanne; brother, John; daughter, Liana; granddaughter, Rosemary; friend, George Stoychoff; her dogs, Suzie and Hanley and many other friends and family as well. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eileen; and brother, David. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 11:30am to 12:30pm at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River. A Liturgy of the Word service will follow at 12:30pm with Rev.
