Julia V. Migazzi

Julia V. Migazzi, age 102, of Caspian, MI, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020 at ManorCare Nursing Home in Kingsford, MI. She was born on March 4, 1918 in Caspian, MI, the daughter of the late Alfonse and Victoria (Cristan) Berti. She attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating with the Class of 1936. After graduation, she worked as a secretary for Mr. Turin Vanzo at the Iron River office for Michigan Employment Security. On May 3, 1938 she married Walter Migazzi in Caspian. The couple celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary in 1956. Walter preceded her in death in July 1956. She was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Society. Julia enjoyed knitting and making afghans and working in her garden. She was a good mother, good friend, and a loving grandmother. Julia is survived by her son, Michael (Judy) Migazzi of Iron Mountain, MI; grandson, Derek (Lisa) Migazzi; great grandchildren, Liliana and Lachlin Migazzi; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Rose, Marie, Viola, and Ann and brothers, John, Louis, and Felix. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River.
