Julius J. Bonel

Julius J. Bonel, age 92, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI. He was born on December 14, 1930, in Ion River, MI, the son of Joseph and Elisa (Columba) Bonel. He attended the Stambaugh Schools and graduated. Julius married Dolores Erickson in 1961. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in 2015. Dolores preceded him in death on November 23, 2015. He was a self-employed mechanic for many years. Julius enjoyed going to the casino and entertaining people with his accordion. Julius is survived by his daughters, Jean (Dave) Cimarelli of Iron River, MI and Julie (Warren) Harris of Gladstone, MI; stepdaughter, Linda Sue Korus of Georgia; sister, Rose Rankinen of Iron River, MI; grandchildren, Douglas, Michelle, and Alicia; several great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Debbie Ruzzicone and sister, Irma Mathews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery.
