June R. Knapp

June R. Knapp, age 97, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 in Iron River, MI. She was born on July 20, 1922 in Linn, WI, the daughter of the late Wray and Francie (Belgray) Householder. June married L. A. “George” Knapp on April 19, 1941 and made their home in Zion, IL until 1965, when they moved to Iron River, MI and made their home on W. Brule Lake Road. George preceded her in death in 1976. She was employed as an assembly line worker at Dynapar in Illinois. June loved crafting, including quilting and crocheting. She also loved to read westerns, especially books by Louis L’Amour, one of her favorite authors. When she was younger, she and George would ride their Harley Davidsons around in the summer and snowmobile in the winters. June is survived by her children, Bernice Knapp and Sandra L. Skovera, both of Iron River, MI, and Kenneth Knapp of Beach Park, IL; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren; and extended family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene; two grandchildren, Dawn and Terry; great granddaughter, Courtney; and daughter-in-law, Gloria.
