Karen L. Fesnick, age 67, of Iron River, MI, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born on November 11, 1954, in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late LeRoy and Bruna (Nardi) Ahlberg. She attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating from West Iron County High School with the class of 1972. She had been employed in housekeeping at the Aspirus Iron River Hospital. Karen was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, MI. She bowled in the Ladies Minor League for ten years. Karen enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandsons, cooking, baking, occasionally going to the casino, and reminiscing about special times spent at the Indian Lake family cottage. Karen also enjoyed working and spending time with her colleagues and social networking. She also liked her practical jokes. Karen is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Scott) Tarsi of Green Bay, WI; sisters, Ruth (Steve) Shoquist of Oklahoma City, OK and Sharon (Leif) Erickson of Iron River, MI; grandsons, Braeden Tarsi and Landen Fesnick; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was also preceded in death by her son, Chad Fesnick; sister, Linda Gallup; and niece, Kristi Gallup. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A Liturgy of the Word service will follow at 4:00pm on Saturday, February 26, 2022, with Deacon Terry Verville to officiate.
