Kathleen P. Bemis

Kathleen P. Bemis, age 98, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Iron River Care Center. Kathleen was born on May 5, 1928, in Florence, WI, the daughter of the late Charles and Lena (Rucinski) Bemis. She attended and graduated from the Stambaugh Schools, with the Class of 1944. Following graduation, she obtained her certification as an X-Ray Technician in Appleton, WI, and worked in that field for over 40 years prior to her retirement. She then returned to the Iron River area to make her home. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River and the St. Agnes Altar Society and had been a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Green Bay, WI. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, and taking short day trips. Kathleen is survived by her sisters, Margaret Dosh of Milwaukee, WI and Suzie (Jim) Swift of North Carolina; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Martin, Jerome, James, Patrick, Allan, and Mark Bemis and sisters, Ellen Jane Bemis and Sister Marlene Bemis. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Fosu to officiate.
